Day 7 – John 7

HIGHLIGHT37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the [h]Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified. ~ John 7:37-39

Explain – Jesus spoke of quenching the spiritual thirst of human hearts. He invited the thirsty to come to Him, for as they believe In Him, the Holy Spirit would be given to them like a fountain of living water flowing into them and then through them. Jesus will satisfy our spiritual thirst with the presence of Holy Spirit. The human spirit fails unless the Holy Spirit fails.

Apply – I will come to Jesus with my hunger and thirst. He loves to fill a thirsty heart.

Respond – Jesus I am thirsty for you. I long for you to fill my heart with Your Presence – your living water to satisfy my soul. Then flow through into the world around me. Amen.
